Never Did a Cubicle Mean So Much

I admit it.  I cried last night knowing that I’d be coming into work today for the last time to a cube with my name on it. I am being moved out of my beloved Tribune Tower.  Our company has split and Publishing did not end up with the real estate.  Starting next week Technology will work from our printing plant.  I know that a building is not a living breathing thing with a soul that matters for eternity but this move makes me grieve. I grew up with the Sunday Trib and listening to WGN. Working in the Tower is...

Beatrix...not Potter

I've fallen in love with a sandwich (yes it happens periodically) at a rather foo foo (or is it phoo phoo) place.  It's a pot roast sandwich.  Yes.. you would fall in love too.  How can you not.  I wanted my dad and mom to try it out but it's not one of those "dad hang out" places.  He's not a foo foo guy.  Hot dog stand yes, steak and potatoes, yes.  Place to see and be seen...never.  In order to make sure they check it out, I arranged a Saturday morning breakfast at Beatrix.  Ugh.  I like sleeping in on...

She Read My Mind.....from the other side of the world

A few weeks ago I had a fun surprise at my day job.  One of our vendors brought a person in from India to work with me for a couple weeks.  A friend of mine in India found out she was coming and gave her a present for me. Highlight Shots from week in Argentina

Had a terrific opportunity to go to Argentina last week!  So I'll share some photo hightlights from the trip1.  Hit the ground running as soon as we landed and started our walking tour.  Here's one of my first shots from Plaza de Mayo.   2.  Priorities, priorities.... always have to take time out for coffee and sweets.  My sister is wearing our sweet little blue topaz ring.   3.  Everywhere you turn, there is another amazing structure that is old hat for the people walking by.  My sister is wearing our mutli-strand necklace (sold out).   4.  A day trip to...
